Becoming Superhuman – Confessing our Sins – Episode 6

Leviticus 5:5
ה וְהָיָ֥ה כִֽי־יֶאְשַׁ֖ם לְאַחַ֣ת מֵאֵ֑לֶּה וְהִ֨תְוַדָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖א עָלֶֽיהָ׃

James 5:16
טז הִתְוַדּוּ עַל חֲטָאֵיכֶם אִישׁ לִפְנֵי רֵעֵהוּ וְהִתְפַּלְּלוּ אִישׁ בְּעַד רֵעֵהוּ, לְמַעַן תֵּרָפְאוּ. גָדוֹל כֹּחָהּ שֶׁל תְּפִלַּת צַדִּיק בִּפְעֻלָּתָהּ.

Here we find examples from the Torah and the NT text, each text is separated by thousands of years and yet this truth remains true, that we must admit to God, to ourselves, and to others the exact nature of our wrong doings. We are sinners who are in need of a savior. Once we confess our sins we have the proper Kavanah (intention) seeking the mercy of God for the forgiveness of sins. (1 John 1:6-10) Confessing our sins is part of becoming superhuman!

Becoming Superhuman – Taking a Real Moral Inventory of Our Lives – Episode 5

Psalm 139:22–24
כג חָקְרֵ֣נִי אֵ֭ל וְדַ֣ע לְבָבִ֑י בְּ֝חָנֵ֗נִי וְדַ֣ע שַׂרְעַפָּֽי׃
כד וּרְאֵ֗ה אִם־דֶּֽרֶךְ־עֹ֥צֶב בִּ֑י וּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עֹולָֽם׃

Here the psalmist states “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting." What these scriptures are teaching is that we must stop running from the truth about ourselves and our brokenness. It is only when we are truthful that we can experience healing and victory over addiction. This is what Yeshua meant when he said "The truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This is how we become Superhuman.

Becoming Superhuman – Turning Our Lives Over to the Lord – Episode 4

Matthew 11:28–30
כח בּוֹאוּ אֵלַי כָּל הָעֲמֵלִים וְהָעֲמוּסִים (תהילים לח׳ ה׳) וַאֲנִי אַמְצִיא לָכֶם מְנוּחָה. כט קְחוּ עֲלֵיכֶם אֶת עֻלִּי וְלִמְדוּ מִמֶּנִּי, כִּי עָנָו אֲנִי וּנְמוּךְ רוּחַ; (זכריה ט׳ ט׳) תִּמְצְאוּ מַרְגּוֹעַ לְנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶם, ל כִּי עֻלִּי נָעִים וְקַל מַשָּׂאִי.״

To overcome addiction, we must make the decision to turn our lives over to the Lord. We have to choose to open our hearts to God and His Messiah and live our lives as if we do believe these things. When we truly turn our lives over to the Lord He will transform and heal us from within! This is how we become Superhuman!

Revealing how the world causes us to turn from God and His covenant to embrace sin and death.

Becoming Superhuman – Faith is a Superpower – Episode 3

John 3:16–17
טז כִּי כֹּה אָהַב אֱלֹהִים אֶת הָעוֹלָם עַד כִּי נָתַן אֶת בְּנוֹ יְחִידוֹ לְמַעַן לֹא יֹאבַד כָּל הַמַּאֲמִין בּוֹ, אֶלָּא יִנְחַל חַיֵּי עוֹלָם. יז הֵן הָאֱלֹהִים לֹא שָׁלַח אֶת בְּנוֹ אֶל הָעוֹלָם לִשְׁפֹּט אֶת הָעוֹלָם, אֶלָּא כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּוָּשַׁע הָעוֹלָם עַל–יָדָיו.

Here Yeshua is telling us about the Lord God Almighty, that He loves us and that He is in the business of saving and delivering people. He has the ability to heal us. We must believe that God is able to do this and set us free from sin. This is why He sent His son into the world. This means we need to seek these truths, and the eternal life that is in the son. God is powerful to restore us and our lives to sanity and truth. This is how faith is a superpower!

Becoming Superhuman – Admitting that We are Powerless – Episode 2

Mark 2:17
יז שָׁמַע יֵשׁוּעַ וְאָמַר לָהֶם׃ ״לֹא הַבְּרִיאִים צְרִיכִים לְרוֹפֵא, אֶלָּא הַחוֹלִים. (יחזקאל לד׳ טז׳) לֹא בָּאתִי לִקְרֹא לַצַּדִּיקִים אֶלָּא לַחוֹטְאִים.״

But what does the Bible really say about being set free from sin? Does God ever address these questions on being set free and give us a way of escape? The first step to being set free from sin is to admit that we are powerless to overcome, and we need the Lord to help us! What does Yeshua say? לֹא בָּאתִי לִקְרֹא לַצַּדִּיקִים אֶלָּא לַחוֹטְאִים this clearly speaks of our need for a savior, someone who can deliver us from ourselves! It is only when we admit our need for the Lord and step out in faith that we receive help from above! When we believe by faith, these are the first steps to becoming Superhuman!

Becoming Superhuman – Turning from addiction – Episode 1

John 10:10
י אֵין הַגַּנָּב בָּא אֶלָּא לִגְנֹב וְלַהֲרֹג וּלְהַשְׁמִיד. אֲנִי בָּאתִי כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּהְיוּ לָהֶם חַיִּים וּבְשֶׁפַע שֶׁיִּהְיוּ לָהֶם.

The enemy works through addiction. We note that addiction can come in many forms, drugs, alcohol, pride, sex, etc. Notice also that some of these things are accepted by society, that doesn't make these things OK because if they are not overcome they will completely ensnare and destroy because these are not of God. Yeshua said "I have come to give you life and that you have it more abundantly!" This is a powerful truth! When faith in the God of Israel is included, people experience real freedom and Yeshua says that He will show us the way!

There is power in the name of Yeshua, if we confess our sins and seek to turn from them! It is in this way that we become superhuman!

Episode 33 –

What Side of the Road Do You Walk On?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states we should always walk against traffic if there are no sidewalks to walk on. Why is it safer to walk on the same side of the road as oncoming traffic? The reason is if a vehicle approaches us from behind we have only our ears to rely on to know what is coming. Walking against traffic allows us to actually see what is coming so we can move out of the way. Did you know that these same principles apply to a life of faith?

Acts 26:18
לִפְקֹחַ אֶת עֵינֵיהֶם, לְהָשִׁיב אוֹתָם מֵחֹשֶׁךְ לְאוֹר וּמִשִּׁלְטוֹן הַשָּׂטָן לֵאלֹהִים כְּדֵי שֶׁיְּקַבְּלוּ עַל–יְדֵי אֱמוּנָה בִּי סְלִיחַת חֲטָאִים וְנַחֲלָה בְּקֶרֶב הַמְקֻדָּשִׁים.׳
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me (KJV)

We walk against this world having eyes to see the truth of God's word and His Messiah Yeshua!

Episode 23 –

Have you ever seen people doing these kinds of crazy things? People who actually put themselves into very dangerous and life threatening situations? One mistake and they would fall to their death. The question for us today is do we similarly put ourselves into life threatening situations by the way we live our lives? Let's consider what the Scriptures say according to 1 John 2:15-17.

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (ESV)

This is a very heavy teaching. Do we do what gives us the greatest thrill?
