I would have to agree with Jesus here with nothing added or clarified. If a couple gets divorced for any reason other than sexual immorality, if they remarry, it is adultery. What God put together, no man should separate (even with a divorce certificate). Our pieces of paper do not nullify a covenant made with God and our spouse.

Serious question, so you think the ‘putting away’ is not an actual divorce, but separation? That would make a bit more sense since He gives instructions of divorcing
That could be. The king didn’t divorce Vashti but he definitely put her away. The same for king David and Michael after she mocked him for dancing before the Yah in front of the people.
So, I’m still confused. What about those who married & divorced before becoming a believer? Is this still a covernant marriage (no prayer & seeking the Lord etc) The woman at the well scripture is interesting! ? Please clarify the above points please .. As a newer believer it’s still unclear to me. If Yeshua himself says.. Anyone who divorces (man puts away with a certificate or vice versa) & remarries (whilst both remain alive) they both commit adultery if they remarry? Spiritual perspective on the cleaving together of male & female – So one or both commit adultery, decide to divorce & remarry – what are the spiritual implications? Thank you for any further clarity.
