  1. YES!!! I love those things, I call it a red hairy fruit.  I ate them like crazy in Costa Rica where my mom lives.  Wonderful fruit.

They’re male and female, so if you get them to grow, get a few plants to help ensure you have fruit in a few years.

  2. DON’T EAT THE SEED – I POISONED MYSELF AFTER EATING A SMALL BAG WITH AROUND 14 FRUITS WITH THE SEEDS.
    Please don’t eat the seeds.
I normally eat seeds of many other fruits – but this one, was a NO GO!!!

Some countries set a warning on the package. I just need to see the fruit and my body screams instantly – Get away from that!!! And I really liked the taste of the fruit itself… But… No… I can’t eat it anymore, nor look at it without the body getting effected.

  3. I like rambutan, so much fun to eat. I feel close to nature when I eat this. I find the smaller, lychee to be more juicy. Thanks for sharing. ( ps I find these in Chinatown/NYC )
