Could the Flat Earth lie or movement, basically, be a backdoor attempt to destroy the credibility of the Hebrew Roots movement?
From where I see it, most of the flat earth proponents, seem, to come from the Hebrew Roots movement as well.
This debate (flat earth), in itself, almost seems like like a flesh eating disease, that eats itself (the Body of Messiah).

I think Michael Rood’s efforts, as well as other Ministries in the Faith, to expose Flat Earth deception at this time is very compelling. It almost feels like a line is being drawn in the sand, brethren build your house on the Rock and test all things.

Satan can use anything to be divisive, whether it is truth or not. He does a great job of turning people on each other. Anything good or bad can be turned into an idol. True people of God have to be discerning of when shared information is helpful, and when it will not be profitable for others. Even Yeshua said to his disciples “there is much I desire to share with you, but you cannot bear to hear it now.” We have to learn to let first things be first, and not be overly zealous in our desire to share on other topics with the greater world.
So Kent , science is true if it describes the earth, but it is full of lies if it describes the creation.

Stretches out the heavens (where the stars are) as a curtain. Spreadeath them out as a tent to dwell in. The stars, heaven, is like a tent we dwell in. We put a tent on the flat earth. Again it is never 100% flat. We find as flat an area as we can. No wonder you ignore most of this verse. It is very clear the earth is flat and the heaven is like a curtain or a tent.

Ken G. Please describe this magical tool that tells us when we are to take scripture literally and poetically? We read Psalms and know they are songs, poems etc, but where is this tool I use to know how to understand a verse? I would suggest the mainstream tool is go to a commentary…..and theres the problem. Scripture is to be used to test answers to prayer to ensure they are from God. If you pray to YWVH to ask what shape the earth is, and you are told a sphere, what verses are you using for your affirmation?
Please ensure all evidencial verses can be shown as poetic using exegesis only. You have to show that when Moses wrote firmament (Raqia) he didnt mean a solid dome, he actually meant an invisible barrier that keeps our atmosphere from somehow being sucked into the vacuum of so called space. You then have to show, using scripture only, that this was also the view of the Israelites and prophets…

This is pretty weak. The flat-earthers have allot of strong, math-based arguments, and no one thinks they mean it’s smooth like a sheet of paper when they say, “flat.” Just like nobody thinks you mean perfectly smooth sphere like a glass marble when you say, “sphere.” Stick to the observable, measurable, verifiable data rather than this, “there’s no such thing as a circle/square,” stuff! There’s plenty of observable, measurable data that can be used without quoting philosophers or atheists.

The earth is not a flat disc, but those who believe it is wont be persuaded by geometry of shadows, etc, because there are formulae that demonstrate accurately that the same shadows can be created on a disc-shaped model of the light source is simply closer. As one example. In your persuasive argument, you’ll want to know these things that they use in order to understand their view and counter it accurately with measurable facts. It’s not as simple as your first think – there’s often more than one path to the same results, and the number of people who believe in a disc-shaped earth is increasing because of these seemingly persuasive mathematical arguments.
