Are there any Scriptures that say Gentiles do not need to keep the law? Do we even know what the law is? This video will reveal the answer to both questions and more.

Dean Wheelock answers the question. You can view his website at

  1. In my opinion law is just a bad translation. The Torah are the instructions, its not smart to take a test or to do anything without first following the instructions.

  2. FYI, the term “gentile” in the Bible does NOT refer to Christians. That term is used for pagans and followers of other religions. Since Christians believe in the Word of the Bible than they are NOT gentiles.

  3. Yeshua is the fulfillment of the Torah. He never once repeats dietary, sacrificial, ceremonial, clothing, or governmental laws etc. He elevates the moral law which came before Moses and addresses the issues of the heart. We are told that the New Covenant would not be the same of old and Yeshua makes statements such as, “It was said of old, but I SAY TO YOU”. We obey all NT commandments which is NOT written Torah. Read Eph 2:14-22 & 2 Cor 3.

    • The reason He didn’t have to repeat any of it (although He did mention MUCH of it), is because He was talking to people who already knew it. This is the same type of argument that the homosexual community raises, when they ask the question about what Yehoshua ever said about homosexuality. They seem to think that simply because He did not mention it, that He supported those who chose to behave in such a way.

In other words, there are some things that Yehoshua wouldn’t need to talk about, simply because he would be “preaching to the choir.”

He showed them all the way Torah should be observed.  The only thing “new” about Torah is that the disposition of sin is different. Torah is also now written into the hearts of people, rather than seeing it done in a legalistic fashion.

Also, anyone who wants to go by the thought of “obeying NT commandments, then you’re welcome to do so.  There are over 1,010 commandments in the N.T., which is only half the size of the Tanakh. Maimonides only lists 613.  I’ll opt for the Tanakh, thank you, very much.

The partition that is spoken of in Eph. is not that of Torah, but the separation that was brought about because of the enmity between Ephraim and Israel. Read the entire book, please. As for the passage in II Cor. 3:3-6, it kind of demolishes the thought of trying to use the chapter to support an Anomian thought process. This covers what is given in Yirmeyahu (Jer.) 31:31-33. Please, read the entire passage:  “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a new covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah (See Heb. 8:8-12, Heb. 10:16-17) not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares יהוה. “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.”

OOPS!!!  Did he really mean that?  He’s going to do what with Torah, where?

      Oh, let’s not forget Pr. 28:4.   ^5!

    • he answered that when answering another… he said have ye never read how God made them male and female, and how the male shall leave his parents and cleave unto his wife, and they are no longer twain, but one flesh… though he did say all manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven unto men…

  4. Any man that teaches we can not keep the commandments does not understand why Yahushua came. There is the ten commandments and the book of the law which we call Torah. When we read Deut. 31:26 we find the book of the law (Torah) stood against us. Deu 31:26 “Take this Book of the Torah, and you shall place it beside the ark of the covenant of יהוה your Elohim, and it shall be there as a witness against you,
Read the last line, it was a witness against us, WHY? Because Israel transgressed the covenant which was the keeping of the ten commandments, at Mr Horab and received the Book of the Law as it says in KJV. When we read Col. 2:14 we find that the hand writing of ordinances was nailed to the stake with Yahushua because it stood against us.
Messiah came so we could be cleansed of sin and be able to keep the covenant perfectly.

  5. Nastar- With all do respect you do not know that majestic work of the Lord Jesus Christ and what God’s eternal purpose is through Messiah. It is to have a family of many sons and daughters in the likeness of Jesus. He is separating a people to take part in His glorious heavenly kingdom. I’m very much aware of those verses you quoted and i believe them. But are you going to ignore all of Paul’s writings to the church? Tell me how he came to write Ephesians 1 and how he tells us who we are in Christ. “Everyone who is IN CHRIST is a NEW creation; all the old things have passed away; behold, all has become NEW. He also clearly rebuked the Galations who desired to keep the law by telling them that they had fallen from grace. You need to understand the WHOLE counsel of God and receive this revelation of the New Covenant. Yes, the written law is said to be on our hearts and known by our conscience. This is the law that Jesus exalts. Romans 2 says, “For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law. For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves.” Matt 28:18-20, Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations; teaching them to obey all things that I HAVE COMMANDED you.” Where do we see Jesus commanding His disciples to obey Torah in Scripture?

    • If you believe Messiah came to do away with the Torah(law) or came to bring a new law you have just borne false witness against Messiah.  There are a number of witnesses against you including Matthew 5:17-18, John 7:16 and John 14:10 from the Gospel accounts.  Furthermore, you have called the Messiah a liar.  In addition, you have accused the Father in Heaven of being a liar because He sent the Messiah according to Deuteronomy 18:18-19, which Simon Peter quoted in Acts 3:22-23, and your claim contradicts Deuteronomy 4:2 and Deuteronomy 12:32, and because the Father explicitly stated you do not add to His words and you do not diminish from them, you are claiming the Father sent the Messiah to break His Law.
It would benefit you to examine what you truly believe, because even from a first glance, the moment you said the Messiah gave a new Law, you show that you have not studied to show yourself approved.  You may have studied what is labeled as “New Testament”, but it is obvious you were told the meaning of the references and you simply studied based on how you were told rather than reading the information from Genesis to Revelation without the influence of someone’s theology interpreting the text.  References such as Matthew 5:19 will always be a stumbling block because you are effectively matching what the first part says.  Furthermore, you are showing yourself as those the Messiah will reject in judgment according to Matthew 7:21-23.
In closing, please do not think I am condemning you, but pointing out that you need to examine the foundation of your faith and correct what is in error.

    • +angelwing1026 Christ alone fulfills the law. Therefore, I completely fulfill the law through Him. I put no faith in my own works, in the tediousness of the law. But rather, in the fullness of the law – namely, that I love the Lord God with all my heart, soul, and mind, and my neighbor as myself.

The Law cannot save you. Christ is Lord of the Law. Therefore, the Law holds no sway over those who are in Christ Jesus.

You complicate the grace of God. I will not glory in legalism, but in the hope of my salvation, who is Christ and Christ ALONE.

      Good day.

1 John 2:3-5 – And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
The only commandments John knew was the Torah.

Paul said: Romans 2:13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
Roman 3: 31 Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Focus on WHAT PAUL DID (He kept the Torah) not on the letters we have misunderstood:

2 Peter 3:15-17: Also, regard the patience of our Lord as an opportunity for salvation, just as our dear brother Paul has written to you according to the wisdom given to him. He speaks about these things in all his letters in which there are some matters that are hard to understand. The untaught and unstable twist them to their own destruction, as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures. Therefore, dear friends, since you know this in advance, be on your guard, so that you are not led away by the error of LAWLESS people and fall from your own stability.

Grace is not freedom to do what you want, but the ability to do what God wants.  It’s all about Him. Don’t confuse grace, the free gift with mercy.

Don’t think that instructions of God are evil,  even though they don’t save us, they protect us and following them shows God we love and respect him.

  6. God is a real person. You need to stop treating Him like a software program where every word has to be just so. You are offensive to God and do stink mightily. If someone uses a transliteration to refer to my name, I know they refer to me. God is not arbitrary or vain. These kind of teachings cheapen the grace of God and take the focus off of what’s important – of which you have no earthly clue.

    • God bless you brother and thank you for that comment.what this guy doesn’t seem to understand is God works with the heart and he looks out our inward motives.if we are truthfully seeking God in spirit and in truth, then he will not foresake us or condemn us.the name of God the father and his son is Yah,there is no other name, but if you are seeking in truth, then he will open up the door for you.

this healthman whatever his name is,is apart of the hebrew roots movement and that is a well known Christian cult just like the others,we have to be careful of these false teachers in sheeps clothing

    • +phantom2k10 Very, very true. It was Paul who warned a fellow brother that if he were to be circumcised, Christ would profit him nothing. Now, there is nothing wrong with being circumcised in and of itself, just as there is nothing wrong with calling God by a name in a different language. Where we go wrong is when we attach vital importance to these works as it pertains to the saving of our soul. In such a way Christ and only Christ can be the rock, and it is our faith in the finished work of Christ by which we are justified, not in the tediousness of the law.

You get it, and I thank God for that. Remember to pray for those who don’t.

      Matthew 5:18-19:
For I assure you: UNTIL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS AWAY, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands AND TEACHES PEOPLE TO DO SO WILL BE CALLED LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. But whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

  7. Amen we should try to fallow the example put forth in Mashiach. The law was given to show that we can not fulfill the law. And we need Yeshua since we fall short. Though thats no excuse to live in a lawless state. I say thank you for the Tora. Yahweh is all that is good and Tora is his good path. We are not saved by the law but through Yeshua that completed the law. And its only by his Mercy that he provides us His Grace to be called HIs….Shallom

    • good comment its good to see youa re not deceived by the lies fed by this false preacher.

      John 13:34
      King James Version (KJV)
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Jesus Christ our lord and saviour, the word who became flesh,God in the flesh fulfilled the law and all its requirements.the law was written to guide the children of israel and show them how perfect they would need to be in order to please God and be seen as righteous, but they obviously couldn’t keep the law because of there sinful nature.the law is no longer applicable to us and we are now under the grace.if you love your neighour as Jesus loves us,then not only are you showing the world that you are his disciples, but you are basically upholding the whole law.

God wanted the children of israel to see that its not about keeping a set of rules, its about the heart and your inward motives, which is why God does everything out of love and expects the very same from us.

    • +phantom2k10 Amen Brother. I am reminded of the book of  ROMANS 6: 1-5
WHAT shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein.Know ye not, that so many that were baptized into Jesus Christ (Yeshua Mashiach) were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: That like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in the newness of life. for if we have been planted  together in the likeness of his death we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
And then further down in the same chapter 6: 14 it clearly states… For sin shall not have dominion over you:for ye are not under the law but under grace.  So like you have stated from the book of JOHN  that we are to love one another and in doing so we are following the law. And everything else just falls in to order. I do believe we should not consume blood. though that’s just out of respect for the creature I am eating. And i do think we should celebrate the feasts that Jesus celebrated. and that a lot of the “holidays” we do recognize are just pagan festivals just with a different names. I have recently started to attend a Messianic church. And have really learned a lot. check the ministry out they live stream on Saturdays at 10 am pacific at http://www.elshaddaiministries.us   i hope you can join us and check it out. Shallom

  8. Wait a moment. Jews? Jewish? Does anybody know what the suffix of -ISH means? Who are they? What tribe are they from? Are they the Children of Israel? Are they of the 12 tribe of Israel? Are they spoken of in Genesis 49? Does Deuteronomy 28:15-60 fit them? Judaism? The religion of Judaism that also teaches the Talmud? The very book that hates so-called followers of Christ (talking about the real ones who follow Christ) and say disgusting things about Christ and Mary? The practice of the Kabbalah? That book of sorcery and demon calling? Are my ears hearing correctly that the man said of Judaism? Is that not what I heard? The same Judaism followers that wear those all black wardrobe and curly hair strings?

Why would anyone keep this so-called Oral Torah? There’s no such thing. Toss that satanic teaching and perpetual lie. Wearing fringes? Why wear a hat? Is it not a disservice to the crown of your head when teaching and it’s not cold?

    • good point. why would a blood bought believer in jesus christ even consort with a rabbi, to begin with? jesus said call no man on this earth rabbi, let alone associate with them. this whole business of the “oral torah” is nothing more than non-biblical traditions concocted by christ denying jews. in other words, lies

  9. Torah pursuant? The Apostle Paul after his conversion to Christ (Yeshua) had this to say in regards to the pursuing the Law!  “1 Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. 2 Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. 3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4 though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless. 7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:1-11  He was no longer following the law but was following Christ putting all his zeal into knowing him, walking with him and building a deeper relationship with him. The Law came by Moses but Grace and truth came by Christ! John 1  Gods grace supersedes the Law, when you live by it, it’s a beautiful thing! Amen

  10. dean Wheelock and his hebrew roots mumbo-jumbo, is full of it. where in the bible did god tell the children of Israel to build a temple? no where. so his logic of not being able to perform sacrificial law because there isn’t a temple any more, doesn’t hold water. sacrificial law was instituted at a time when there wasn’t even a temple in existence. god said to build an altar of earth and unhewn stones and use it. so what is preventing christ denying jews from keeping the sacrificial law today? an unblemished heifer? no. no priests? no. hypocrisy? yes

  11. sorry buddy ur a gentile so u shud not even be teaching ur out of ORDER!!! thats y u understand ntn!! were not under the sacrificial law!! thats it!! we gatta keep alll!! now yall gentiles have no reason to keep our feast days !! its a pollution to even bring other nations among us in the temple as it says in acts 21 i think!! wen paul was accused of bringing a greek in the temple!! they were gonna kill him if he did dat or if he was speaking AGAINST the law!! obviously its the law of sacrifice cuz christ took away all sacricises nd oblation!! Edomites should not teach!! Neither should those of the synagogue of satan who stole our land Israel!! Edom/Idumea ezekiel 36:5 u edomites stole Gods land nd are boasting nd spreading false doctrine
