  1. March of 2012 I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, hypertension, very high levels of LDL, a low HDL, and vitamin deficiency. I’m only 5′ 6″ and at the time I weighed at 220 lbs with a 42″ waist. My 1st visit to the endocrinologist in May 2012 I was immediately “ordered” to be put on metformin because my A1C level of 10.5 was unacceptable he said. I slammed my foot on the doctor’s brakes and said to him, I prefer to fix my problem the difficult and natural way rather than the easy way out. Give me 3 months and if my A1C level is not acceptable within said time, I will have no choice but to take the “drug”.
After changing my eating habits, started cycling and working out, I managed to beat diabetes within 6 months, lost 70 lbs in the process, took 12 inches off my waist, and all of the medical issues mentioned above were permanently remove from my medical record. I’m down to a waist 30, 150 lbs and I’m now training for my first 70.3 half IronMan triathlon which will be held on March 29th 2014 in Ocean Side, CA. and stepping up my game for Lake Tahoe Ironman September 21st 2014.

    • Oh thanks for your post. When I was single and lived alone and decided to lose weight. I would run along a path at a beautiful beach. I became a vegetarian and my skin glowed and I lost weight. Now I’m married to a man who loves to eat any and everything. But he does exercise. He’s lost weight but could lose a lot more if he didn’t eat the way he does. And temptation seems to overtake me with him. I’m praying along with planning to do better in 2014.

Well Ginger, I hope to jolts you back into reality by passing onto you the wisdom that Rocky Balboa so eloquently conveyed onto his kid in the movie Rock VI.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you’re hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that! 😉

    • What you had was all life style diseases that you did the best things you could have..Very wise and impressive…and now your chances of getting cancer is greatly reduced also…bravo.

  2. Its so true about being pushed a long on a coverbelt by doctors. I was pregnant, not eating well, kidney function declining, probably not thinking straight and all they wanted to do was put me on Bp drugs which I did take because of the immediate life threatening problems, ended in emergengcy c setion pumped full of magnesium sulfate, worst experience ever in my life, not once did any one speak to me about diet.. MD doctors really need to start being trained in nutrition as standard procedure, but then again what “nutrition” would they be trained in?

Also I think of leafy greens and vegetables as two different types of produce, I wish people would define that more. I am glad he shared some of what he eats.

  3. I am so glad that you are still here and that you are healthy and happy. My mothers story is almost identical to yours she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in her 30’s. she also said no to chemo and went vegan instead. She is still alive and cancer free to this day. Congratulations to you on a long and happy life.

  4. Chris says he got Cancer at age 26, and this video came ten years later. Dude still looks really fresh and young. That Raw diet sure must be helping.

    • +joshua b That’s any developed country in the western world where people are constantly pressed for time because they are have to work long hours into to keep up with that “dream”.

    • JJIGGYDOC All supermarket food on the shelves should be banned except for refrigerated food section. I’m so tired of seeing hydrogenated oil, monocalcium phosphates, artificial colors snd flavors, BHT, tbhq, asparatame, sorbitol, propylene gycol on the ingredients. These companies think Americans are so stupid that they just buy without looking at the ingredients or make it so tiny that you need to bring a magnifying glass to the store with you so you can see the ingredients.

  5. I wounder if this will be something people will see far in the future in museums as an example of our ignorance like when people use to ingest tape worms to lose weight and give babies morphine to sleep, what if there like oh people use to purposely take in chemo and radiation for cancer when all they needed to do was stop eating toxic junk and go raw vegan. Wouldn’t that be crazy?

  6. natural antiangiogenesis.
the raw foods like fruits and vegetables. in comparison to chemo therapy drugs are actually higher in Volume with cancer fighting ingredients than the actual pharma drugs. but they don’t kill us! raw foods are the way to go.

    • Yeah. But what would you do without doctors. You could literally die from anything without them. I agree plastic surgeons and other cosmetic private surgeons are way overpaid, but surgeons are a necessity to the human race. And if I’m honest. I wouldn’t be surprised if oncologists already knew about the diet and lifestyle way of dealing with cancer, but just didn’t say anything because it’s hardly profitable for the medical industry

  7. I have to be brutally honest, MOST Doctors are doing the Devils work and are largely evil people in that area of their lives. They don’t see you as a human but a Machine that they make cash off of. The Pharmaceutical Industry Makes money off of sick people, not healthy people. Jesus Christ and his Teachings is what makes us healthy. Stop acting like doctors are good people just because they put on a Good uniform and have a sheet of paper hanging on the wall. Jesus will bring health. I have seen amazing benefits from living according to the scriptures, everything else is bogus.

    • Man has his choice to be good or evil. Don’t blame it on some devil. The doom and gloom of the gospels was written by the Greeks. 😐

It’s mans will to be who “he or she is…” blaming on some figment takes the personalization of the person that made that choice to follow pharmaceuticals and kill people, or become a naturopathic doctor and heal someone. We are a product of that which surrounds us. Your words are ignorant and lack meaning because each individual has a choice, period. 🙄😒😑

    • Not Vegan, Raw food is the point !!!. Vegan seems at the first glance pretty good, but it lacks in any points. You can be Vegan and still eat unhealthy food.

    • He actually eats a paleo diet. He doesn’t eat allot of meat but he does eat meat. I feel being vegan and substituting natural ingredients that animals provide us can be bad for your health. The fact of soy and soy based products is horrible for a man or a woman’s system.

Fermented foods are key, no processed, some foods are good cooked but if you have cancer raw nutrition is key. Eating to seasons and your blood type. I see allot of sick vegans. Many that will not supplement their nutrition and their diet is lacking.
