AVOIDING active exploitation, of course.
Ok fair enough.By the way I’m not defending honey particularly- Im trying to address a common vegan thought pattern of denouncing honey, but not thinking twice about something equally as harmful because it’s technically vegan.
Passive exploitation means ‘indirect’. Eg eating a plant that an animal population relies upon, therefore wiping out that population. Or destroying it’s habitat
I’d argue that this is cruelty & that’s why I think sustainability is fundamental to veganism
Have a good day
I don’t think its cruelty, because cruelty has (again) a very specific meaning.
But, again, veganism is about something besides cruelty.
FWIW, I agree that reducing harm (which is what you are talking about) is a natural ethical offshoot of veganism. Most of the vegans I know are actively boycotting Palm Oil, for example. But whether or not one does avoid an ingredient like that does not define veganism, while the direct use of animals does. There’s a distinction.
You too!
If you were truly concerned about insects, wouldn’t you need to abstain from all agricultural foods due to the pesticides? I’m aware that animals are killed as a result of agriculture too, but not very many (see the website Animal Visuals).
Also, I haven’t seen any studies proving that bee pollen is a reliable source of B12. NutritionData says that honey is not a source of B12, so I think it’s likely that bee pollen isn’t either.
My appetite is not pathetic, consuming a varied omnivorous diet has made me clearly superior to you. Be sure, if food runs out, us ”zombies” will come for you ”herbivores”
mwuhahahaha
To be able to take more honey away, the bees are fed sugarwater which is nutrionally inferior.
Bees are kept in boxes, not in their ”natural tree stumps” so they might be a little homesick.
But seriously, the people saying that honey is not vegan or not natural need to drop their tinfoil hats. Something MADE or altered by an animal is not MEAT or HAIR from that animal.
It IS that straightforward, soy is not an argument since SO MUCH land is used for soy to FEED livestock…. If you use all the plantations for half of the current meatproduction and the rest vegetables and fruit it would make a world of difference.
I don’t consume honey or bee pollen.
agroflorest dont need pesticide
It’s not a lifestyle, it’s a religion. Please stop telling everyone about how great your life is.
What’s wrong with honey?
First, religion is based on FAITH, thus, I’m NOT religious. Veganism is based on FACTS & compassion for all other sentient beings, thus, I am one.
2nd, where does she say ANYTHING about ‘how great her life is’?! How ‘great’ can our lives truly be when we have to contend with people who stay stuff like what you do here?!
The word VEGAN was created by Donald Watson in 1944 to describe a strict/total vegetarian who abstains from ALL animal products in his/her life for ETHICAL reasons. That includes what he/she wears & uses in life. So anything from a bee is NOT vegan. Period.
If you want to use the word VEGAN do describe yourself, follow Watson’s definition. If you disagree with it, come up with another word, but don’t misuse & desecrate ‘our’ word, since it’s for those of us who respect it & live up to it.
This might sound ignorant & don’t get me wrong im all for veganisim but on any other given day if a honey bee is flying towards you isn’t your first instinct is to swat it yes or no ?
BRIAN CLEMENT AND MATT MONARCH ECT WHO SELL OR SUGGEST ANIMAL PRODUCTS ONLY DO THIS SO THEY DONT ALIENATE THERE ANIMAL EATING CUSTOMERS….CAN SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE WRITE A COMMENT THAT MAKES SENSE
I’m not trying to be ignorant or reactionary, but are vegans also against keeping pets? I’m wondering where the “personal use” line is drawn…
I wouldn’t kill not even a cockroach (unless there was a severe infestation of them in the place you live)…. but a bee… actually we probably need some infestation of them, they are dying you know, nobody should kill a bee, they are some of the most wonderful beings of this world.
If you desire to lose fat quickly, you should do a google search Legion Fat Loss. They can guide you and help you get the body you deserve.
I really appreciate how unbiased this video is. I’m a vegan/beegan for all you elitists. Very good video with valid points.
I’m a vegan/beegan myself dude! You know what? I might just start using beegan as a title! It would take the purists by surprise because it is a term they use to try and belittle us. Enough people did that or stopped with the terms all together they would just give up with it. Btw man raw honey with banana, cacao nibs and fresh home made almond milk makes a great raw smoothie. Not 100% raw myself but I love my salads and smoothies x3
Veganism is kind of a contradiction because, even though purists don’t eat honey, they are still exploited/manipulated to help make our food grow in more quantity. I also read that, if it wasn’t for humans, the honey bee would have been extinct because we cultivated them/saved them.
+Jack Baker also cheagan is another name we can switch to when one cheats on a vegan diet lol
If you eat honey you are not vegan. Period. If eat eggs I would still be a vegan? No. If you eat honey you are not vegan.
