Someone emailed me saying their friend suggested the Torah and the old covenant was done away with quoiting Hebrews 8:13. Also another question about working on the Sabbath, how do we explain to employers we can't work this day and other feast days.

Very good explanation. Love the example of polishing a car.
@FreeKwinsie well, “Son of God” and Elohim do not imply diety in and of themselves. Cyrus was called “YHWHs messiah” Moses was called “Elohim” by YHWH, and Israel as a nation- every man woman and child is refereed to many times as “my firstborn son”. IN terms of dying for sins.. Jesus could only die for sins, if Jesus as at-least a man, is allowed by the Laws of moses to be a sacrifice.,. actually, ALL messiah means if memory serves is anointed, so ALL priets/kings/prophets are messiahs.
@FreeKwinsie Hi, Scripture says He is the *ONLY begotten* Son – the only one. People try to say there are “a lot of sons” and this is true (i.e., “son” can refer to many different things) – but there is only ONE begotten son. He is unique. He is the only one to ever hold that title…ever.
I just made a video about Who He is if you are interested (featured video on my page right now). I hope it blesses you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
I will pray for you, too. 🙂
Hmmm, I liked you’re answer. To me it’s as if you are saying, in the current affair of thing’s if we must work on Shabbat and not having too much of a choice, then shall we teach our employer’s and fellow employee’s the importance of shabbat on shabbat.
If YEHOVAH had “done away” with the “old testament,” There would be no heavens or earth because He made the heavens and the earth through His Word according to the “old testament.” HEAVEN AND EARTH EXIST BECAUSE OF THE EVERLASTING WORD OF YHVH!! All seeds keep giving fruit because He commanded them to do so in the beginning!!
@ezkeja Rossetta Stone. Excellent software for your computer
@ezkeja TheBackyardProfessor has some videos on Biblical Hebrew. In some of them, he’s very lazy about extending the foot of his Beits. Another man, Brad Scott, has videos on this, too, but from more of the proper way to understand the words, than how to learn the grammar. Also, AncientHebrewOrg has videos on both of these levels.
Your perspective and subsequent comments do not fall into line with the message of Jeremiah 31:31-34. In Jeremiah, the new covenant will not be according to the covenant made with the children of Israel. It is not a renewed covenant. A car that is restored is not the same as a new car. No matter what we do to the old car, it is still the same old car. The covenant will be a new covenant, “not like the covenant that I made with their fathers . . .” Yeshua confirms this Luke 22:20.
@ezkeja I’d also recommend Hebrew 10 minutes a day. And a website called Hebrew 4 Christians. I’m currently learning myself.
I got half way through chucking my clothes out in regards to Leviticus 19:19 until I decided to look up the other bible translations of this verse. My bible says don’t wear clothing of mixed material while other bible translations says don’t wear clothing of wool and linen mixed together. What does the oroginal hebrew says? Is it just for wool and linen or is it any materials mixed together?
HalfKaztBoy …just for wool and linen.
Was the Sabbath created just for Jews specifically.
Was the Sabbath created just for the Jews specifically?
No.
No, it was made for man (Mark 2:27)
Well said. My first Sabbath, right before I was going to light the candles, I got a phone call from a job. That was G-d’s way of blessing me at the time because I didn’t have one and I really needed one. The next week I had 2 jobs. Ever since, I tell my employers up front that I don’t work on the Sabbath. I’ve never had a problem and the employer most likely will work it out. Even in a small town with no Jews or anything, it was okay. G-d will help you with all things. Have faith. Pray about it.
“…Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day (Exodus 35:3 KJV)…”
Sabbath: Gal 4:8-10
IT is not A re new .. That is your own interpretation to fit your religion.
Didn’t watch your video but the old covenant was done away with it waxed old and vanished away, but the law and covenant are seperate. The law was still placed in our hearts in the new covenant. If there wasn’t a new covenant the gentiles could have never been saved.
Old covenant is the foundation of the new. New is not the replacement. Can’t have the new without the old!
@thehealthwatchman do you still hold to this view point on the Old and New Covenant?
