A Message about Assyria
1 What sorrow awaits you Assyrians, who have destroyed others[a]
but have never been destroyed yourselves.
You betray others,
but you have never been betrayed.
When you are done destroying,
you will be destroyed.
When you are done betraying,
you will be betrayed.
2 But Lord, be merciful to us,
for we have waited for you.
Be our strong arm each day
and our salvation in times of trouble.
3 The enemy runs at the sound of your voice.
When you stand up, the nations flee!
4 Just as caterpillars and locusts strip the fields and vines,
so the fallen army of Assyria will be stripped!

5 Though the Lord is very great and lives in heaven,
he will make Jerusalem[b] his home of justice and righteousness.
6 In that day he will be your sure foundation,
providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.
The fear of the Lord will be your treasure.

7 But now your brave warriors weep in public.
Your ambassadors of peace cry in bitter disappointment.
8 Your roads are deserted;
no one travels them anymore.
The Assyrians have broken their peace treaty
and care nothing for the promises they made before witnesses.[c]
They have no respect for anyone.
9 The land of Israel wilts in mourning.
Lebanon withers with shame.
The plain of Sharon is now a wilderness.
Bashan and Carmel have been plundered.

10 But the Lord says: “Now I will stand up.
Now I will show my power and might.
11 You Assyrians produce nothing but dry grass and stubble.
Your own breath will turn to fire and consume you.
12 Your people will be burned up completely,
like thornbushes cut down and tossed in a fire.
13 Listen to what I have done, you nations far away!
And you that are near, acknowledge my might!”

    • +Joseph Jones I suggest you do historical research. Trinitarianism was formulated solely by the RCC to add an element of paganism… I was hard pressed NOT to believe this as well, but evidence of *added* scripture, etc. will become quite evident…

    • +Joseph Jones 1 JOHN 5:7

It may first be noted that the words “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (KJ) found in older translations at 1 John 5:7 are actually spurious additions to the original text. A footnote in The Jerusalem Bible, a Catholic translation, says that these words are “not in any of the early Greek MSS (manuscripts), or any of the early translations, or in the best MSS of the Vulgate itself.” A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament, by Bruce Metzger (1975, pp. 716-718), traces in detail the history of the spurious passage. It states that the passage first found in a treatise entitled Liber Apologeticus, of the fourth century, and that it appears in Old Latin and Vulgate manuscripts of the Scriptures, beginning in the sixth century. Modern translations as a whole, both Catholic and Protestant, do not include them in the main body of the text, because of recognizing their spurious nature.—RS, NE, NAB.

  1. I wish Paul would rid his collection of that Alexandrian twist of the word and get himself a Jubilee Bible, Tree of Life, MEV or aKJV. Esp with him referring to the Trinity yet that book twists 1 John 5:7 and is missing verses. Paul, look for Acts 8:37, it is a story about salvation and that verse is missing from those twisted scriptures. I have a list of missing verses and there’s lots more…. Everyone, any ESC NIV NLT etc, are all Constantine twisted manuscripts, the same ruler whom twisted the calendar, holidays, etc

  2. Shalom brother Paul. Glad you spoke of the beliefs upfront, but especially glad to hear you say Yhwh echad has multiplicity — much greater than a trinity. As a former indoctrinated soul, I had to do my research on this topic…and that is a very big rabbit hole cloaked by the RCC and paganism. With Isaiah listing the 7 Spirits of Yah, 7 Spirits to the assembly in Revelation, the Spirit of Elohim on the waters at Creation, PLUS the Ruach HaKodesh… there must be so much MORE to His Self-Existing Oneness than a simple trinity. But a Yah we could know the total of, He’d not be G-d. So, Praise Yah for your readings, His Word, for His all-powerful greatness… and yet He loves us even if we are only but dust. Amein. .

  3. Brother Paul have you ever read from the Scriptures ISR (International Scriptural Research?) Its a whole lot better than the Translations you are currently using. Keeps the original names and terms for Elohim Yahweh and Adonai Yahshua and takes out any words that were added to the Bible by man. The ISR is the best Translation I have ever read. You should use it too. Also, please continue to Pray for my Mental Health and Salvation. Thank you brother Paul for all you do for us. Yahweh bless you and keep you. Yahweh make His face shine upon you and be Gracious to you. Yahweh lift up His Countenance upon you and give you peace. Amein.

  4. Today’s reading allows me to see similarities between then and now. The wisdom you try to spread is falling on willing ears. Thank you. Bless you my brother.

A translation of the Holy Scriptures made directly from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek into modern-day English by a committee of anointed witnesses of Jehovah. These expressed themselves regarding their work as follows: “The translators of this work, who fear and love the Divine Author of the Holy Scriptures, feel toward Him a special responsibility to transmit his thoughts and declarations as accurately as possible . They also feel a responsibility toward the searching readers who depend upon a translation of the inspired Word of the Most High God for their everlasting salvation.” This translation was originally released in sections from 1950 to 1960. Editions in other languages have been based on the English translation.
