Shalom, Paul. The difficulty for the people is that the priests had been compromised, paganistic in some rituals (out of Babylon, including moon timings), & is why Qumran was established. Oh, the priests were legalistic and rather pious BUT with the Babylonian Talmud Those priests were not of the Aaron lineage, but mixed with Greeks! ! See how easy it was to despise Yah’s name? & crucify Yeshua? Why they were called vipers? There’s so much in this historical time of changing laws and times!!! Be blessed.
