there is no virtue in the cross. people don’t realize that Jesus was crucified on a tree, not a wooden cross. “for cursed is anyone who hangs on a tree.”
pastor, you and I both know this and to those that hear it from you and those that take the time to read and due their due diligence in their study of the bible know you are telling the truth.
the word of truth makes void the traditions of me, and as you continue to speak the truth concerning gods word, the listener who is steeped in man’s traditional beliefs and thinking will have to acknowledge that you like the apostles in the bible and many others don’t speak the word with enticing words of man’s traditions but in the demonstration of God’s spirit and his power.
I have family members who go to these so called churches who will never read or study the word outside of what their pastor says. they worship and only understand what the word says because of what the pastor says.
although it’s very hard for me and it saddens me that my family members think and believe this way, I continue to endure nonetheless.
unless people get away from these 501c3 pastors, how can they know the truth?
the same people who go to these churches also believe everything they hear on TV and in the newspapers. so I guess their in good company.

I remember i was in a bible study one time and this lady started ranting and raving about how wives should submit to their husbands and i could see everyone else get uncomfortable cause they couldn’t say anything cause they couldnt believe it was a women speaking like that. she did stay at the church very long they shund her out..Christians do not want truth. Ive had pastor yell at me just for asking about the apocrypha.

Tree or Cross….important historical fact is Jesus was raised from the dead through the power of the Father for our salvation/redemption. Without the historical truth no one has any hope at all. Without the resurrected Christ there is no hope. Jesus said He was the way the truth and the life, no one comes the the Father but through Him. (Jn 14:6) I like the term “comes” as it indicates Jesus is one, in presence, with the Father….

In strongs cross is translated as an instrument of torture, therefor the pasage means exactly what the pastor said, take up your daily tortuer for Christ.

I have found in my dealing with people the faster one talks , less truth is said. Just a way to hide without cover. Just confuse the others mind.
