    • There is nothing of value in the book of John for it is all a myth if you even read the book and understand what it says, It was written from the false Jew’s report in John 1:19 the correct account is in Matthew 3Matthew Mark and Luke are Hebraic Greek while everything else is the Profane Greek of the gentile Church rejected by God.Jesus has yet to save one soul or convert one of the seed of Satan to that of a son of God for the entire book is the start of one big lie and is continued to the book of RevelationRead Jeremiah 3 of the divorce by the Lord of his wife and he would then be the redeemer of Israel and he said he came only for the lost sheep of the house of Israel. God does not take any wild animals or bad fish or wild rye for they were rejected as the children of Serpent.Learn the reason that the real son of God came and I will give you a clue, He came to die that he might annul the first marriage vows that he could remarry his wife and then be the price to buy back the wife and her children, He came only for the people of him the sons of God of the seed of Adam for all others are rejected as they have been since the earth was formed. All gentiles are beast people of the seed of Satan from the second creation. Read in Genesis of the three creations and you will find that Adam was made and created as the third creation after the time period of the waste and desolation, Read Jeremiah 4:24-24 with a correction of the Hebrew change the word man to the correct word of Adam and you will find that the beast people lived before the waste and desolation,Jesus Christ is dead and in hell and he is not coming back anytime soon Read the book of John again and see he was nothing more that one crazy gentile Jew written by a gentile Jew

    • You are off on a tangent. Whether you believe the book of John or not, what is wrong with gentiles? You need to take a history class on the Old and New Testament. Romans 3:29, “is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,”. In the Old Testament there is a negative connotation to Gentile from the Jews, but in the New Testament, it’s a reference to people not 100% law abiding Jews; which I doubt you are. The Bible clarifies numerous times that through faith we are forgiven with grace, and not bound to the law. There’s a major difference between Old and New Testament; hence why you need take classes before making up your own religion from misinterpretation. Google will easily lead you to Bible verses on the topic.

  1. Yesterday i wanted to start studying the book of John, so What better place than The Bible Project to start. yesterday i went through all the videos i couldn’t find John. Today out of no where i get this notification about the Book of John , Thanks alot 🙂 God answers prayers 🙂

    • Reuben, you should check out the movie, “The Gospel of John”. Just a few places that are not very clear in the translation, but still it’s a really good study tool, reading along while you listen and watch the movie.

    • The book of John is a myth written about a Jesus that was a gentle Jew who was unable to be filled with the Holy Spirit, for only those of the house of Israel and the house of Judah are able to receive according to the book of Joel.He was rejected in death when he died for the sins of the whole world when the Lord God of Israel died just 24 hours later. He was in the grave for four and half days he lied just as his father died for he is of his father the Devil according to the book of John. He was heathen worshipper of Baal

    • Gerald Collins Wow. You seem to have quite an argument there. But I disagree. Jesus was the son of God who died on the cross for the sins of those who believe him. Anyways all of the gospels fit together while they were written by different people. Which leads me to my next point, Jesus did not write the gospel. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John did. That is why Jesus is presented in 3rd person. I hope you get this.

    • The book of John is one long lie and is of no value for he is dead and in hell as the son of Satan if you really read the book of John. Only those perishing in John 3:16 hope that this false messiah is able to convert them to be the sons of God. He has yet to make one son of God as the book says.

    • ummm… ya got that wrong, because you’re saying that the book of John is not true, when it is because everything in the bible is true,if you are saying the book of John is a lie,you got that wrong because by faith I know every book in the bible is true, don’t believe me?Ask someone who is a believer of Christ,I’m not trying to criticize you really,I’m praying for you.

  2. In John “eternal life” refers to a “new quality of life”?!
    What about
    John 3:15
“Whosoever believeth in him should NOT PERISH”?
    or
    John 11:26
“Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall NEVER DIE, believest thou this”?
Care to substantiate this ridiculous claim?

    • Sure thing Jarret, happy to clarify! What we say in the video says is that eternal life is “a new quality of life, infused with God’s eternal love, that begins now and lasts into the future.”
This definition is based on Jesus’ definition of “eternal life” in John 17:3″Now this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you’ve sent.” Eternal life for John is not a future reality only, but something that begins now in the present. When a person reaches out to Jesus through faith, they comes into a relationship with the true God. As Jesus says later in the same chapter, knowing this God changes your life, and infuses your life with his personal presence and love: 17:25-26 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
The portrait of eternal life in John is so rich! It means knowing the true God through Jesus. And this knowledge brings God’s love and personal presence into a person’s life, beginning now in the present. And because God’s love is eternal, it’s precisely his love for us that carries us beyond the grave and into the eternal future.
Hope that clarifies! Isn’t the Gospel of John amazing? So profound…

    • +The Bible Project
You certainly have not proven your radical redefinition of eternal life. I am glad to hear that you believe that the saved have an eternal future with God, but your video said something quite different. Don’t you want your viewers to trust in Christ so that they will be saved from eternal hell? Don’t you want them to know that the gift of God is eternal life, not meaning a better quality of life, but life that is eternal, the obvious clear meaning of the words?

John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.(from hell)

18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, (to hell)because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

I am very disappointed that you have decided to be unclear in your video about the most important teaching of my Lord Jesus. I pray that you will be more clear in part 2 that eternal life means everlasting life, not perishing, never perishing, not dying. It is so important that people understand this truth and you will be held accountable for the words you speak to your audience. Thank you for the response.

    • Did you even read what he said?
“ETERNAL LIFE FOR JOHN IS NOT A FUTURE REALITY ONLY, but something that begins now in the present. When a person reaches out to Jesus through faith, they come into a relationship with the true God.”

I don’t understand your problem is with that statement. He’s saying exactly the same thing as you; but rather that eternal relationship with God begins now, rather than in the future, after you die…

    • In the Book of John, it is true that anyone who comes to Jesus will have a relationship with God, and the person changes as he begins to know who He really is. More so, it is emphasis on the Book of John, the word ” Eternal Life”, a blessed life to his faithful after death.

I am moved by Saint Augustine words. He said, We have to seek God now, that we can still find him. For the time shall come , when we wish to find him but shall not able to. You will seek me and shall not find me. Before the Judgment, the judge can be appeased but not on Judgment Day. By a change of life, we can appeased the anger of Jesus Christ but if he shall judge, and find us in sin. He will execute justice and we will be lost.

As God said, He sent his prophets, messengers and His Son Jesus Christ to the world to proclaim the good news and redeem the world but few people believe and listen to Him. Cause when the time comes, when people die and will appear before God’s tribunal, no one has an excuse. Now that we are still breathing, God said this is the “Time of Mercy”, a time to find Him–” Walk while have light”, so that darkness may not overcome and overtakes you” cause when death overtakes us -which we do not know when? “Time of Judgment” comes – after death, we will no longer able to redeem ourselves before the Lord. A smoke of joy is this world is nothing compared to forever suffering. Jesus is a God of Mercy and Justice.

We live our life as if we are going to live forever such as drinking, partying, spending, etc without even considering death and what is to come. Let us find God, now that we still have time.

  3. Hey Bible Project, thanks you so much for these videos! Our ministry is building a website on teaching and I wanted to ask if we could use these on our site. It be link directly to your channel. Thank you!

    • Jesus is a gentile Jew rejected when he came the next day and he was rejected for being an unrighteous gentile Jew while he was in the grave when he was buried according to the custom of the Jews and was buried by another gentile

4. Given that the new covenant was sealed with wine and the old covenant was sealed with blood, I thought it was interesting that the first miracle of Jesus was turning water to wine, when the first miracle done by Moses was turning water to blood.

  5. Hi Bible Project, can you clarify what you mean in John 1:1-2 regarding this “poetic” verse… You seem to be saying that the Word was in God’s mind and that the Word in God’s mind became human. My question to you is, do you believe that the verse is saying that “Jesus is fully God and fully Human, or just a Word in Gods mind. Thanks.

    • Bull Dawg I think that they are Testigos de Jehová, right? The vídeos are beautiful and very explained but I feel not very confort on the full teology they bring

  6. I have been a Christian for decades but I have to say that This video presentation of The Gospel of John has revealed key information which until now had entirely escaped me, i.e. the Raising of Lazarus and Christ laying HIS life down for HIS friend- okay NOW I GET IT! 😀
