Also, the final seconds of each video in these series make for great wallpapers or pages in a picture book. Will a book eventually be made from these series, or are there wallpapers for sale?

There’s another meta-symbol you left out (or will cover later). The story of Israel is a metaphor for the Christian life. We were in slavery (preconversion), God saved us from the power of Satan (Pharaoh), we were baptized and marked as God’s people (Red Sea), we start out optimistic (Covenant at Mt Sinai), but we constantly rebel (Korah, snakes, etc), and make the journey tough on ourselves rather than trusting God (40 years). Life is not a cakewalk, it’s a battle (Numbers). Satan opposes us and we struggle and battle, but through God we can have victory over our enemies (Joshua). Who are our enemies? “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. Driving out the Canaanites is a metaphor for our battle against sin and evil.
great observation
Wow that makes so much sense, it’s so intricate and elaborate, no way the bible can be fabricated like this
I LIKE THIS
and when I say that it’s a metaphor, in no way am I undermining the historicity of those events and battles. I’m simply underscoring God’s sovereignty and ability to weave a lesson for us Christians into biblical history. It shows us that God knew what would happen from the beginning, and knew the plan of salvation and what our Christian lives would be like.
Also if you watch ask these videos and the N.T. videos, you really see the O.T. contrasts in Jesus. LOVE IT! May your team be blessed for this!
you should sell posters of the finished drawings, they’re brilliant, if not posters will you do a graphic novel?
You can buy posters and download them for free here: https://jointhebibleproject.com/resources/?swoof=1&product_tag=posters&paged=1
I was just about to see if I could email these guys for that EXACT same reason. Thank you for asking! ANd thank you bible project for your work!! It’s incredible!
snake bite=consequence of sin – death. as every man born from Adam is “ill” with sin under its influence. snake on the pole= Jesus on the cross. Jesus is Victor over death with His death.
A very accurate summary of numbers. It doesn’t replace listening or reading the book for yourself , but it does surely summarize it for those who cannot grasp the overall meaning of this chapter. Thank you brother for staying on course and not adding things that were not there!>

Was this after God shortened the life spans of people? Wouldn’t have Moses never entered the promise land anyway considering he would have to lead the Israelites in the wilderness for 40 years?

Thank God for bringing me here today this bible project. I had prayed and asked God to help me this morning to be able to read and understand His Words, the Bible, and He answers my prayer this same day. This is exactly what i am looking for, to grasp the whole idea and key points of the Bible with visual illustrations… Thank you Bible Project team, you guys are amazing! I have signed up with recurring donation today to give my support for your project that I believe will bring blessings to many!
I don’t think Balaam was Pagan in the since of worshipping other gods and stuff. if you read numbers he actually told the king of Moab that he couldn’t go outside the bounds of the Lord his God to do more or less than He commanded him to. He even restated this after he inquired of God twice to see if he should curse the people of Israel and the Lord told him what to say. On the third attempt he even abandoned seeking an omen after he saw it pleased God to bless Israel instead.
i just saw my comment disappear ….wats that all about
