Toxins in Food and the Environment: People say that we are what we eat, but it’s more accurate to say that we are what we absorb. How is what we’re absorbing affecting our health? We all want to age gracefully. In order for us to do this, we need to know the difference between synthetic, natural, and bioidentical nutrition and hormones.

There are chemicals in our environment that man synthetically altered, there are chemicals that are natural but NOT natural to our human bodies, and lastly, there are chemicals that are bioidentical – meaning that they are identical to the chemicals that our Creator put in our bodies.

Our human bodies absorb chemicals in many different ways – through our skin, when we breathe, and through what we eat and drink.

Things we absorb can heal us or cause our bodies unwanted symptoms such as fibromyalgia, memory loss, IBS, obesity, chronic pain, and even cancer.

Knowing this, our goal should be to put in the body what belongs there and to keep out of the body what does not.

Consumable Nutrition: We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Yet Christians on a whole are some of the sickest and unhealthiest people on the planet. Why is that? You’ve heard ‘You are what we eat” but that’s just not true. We are what we absorb. We are not absorbing things we need to be healthy, but we are absorbing plenty of things that make us unhealthy.

Today good health requires a proactive effort. Just walking in our own yard can open us up for exposure to toxic chemicals that can have an adverse effect on the way we absorb nutrition and metabolize hormones. You may be attempting to eat heathy and taking handfuls of vitamins. But you may not be absorbing what you need to be heathy.

You need to fix the problem at the source, and start treating the problems instead of the symptoms. You have to go on the offensive to make your body absorb the nutrition the way the Creator wanted us to.

In America today over 100,000,000 people are suffering from some sort of chronic pain. That’s about 1 out of 3. What are the treatments used to stop this pain epidemic? People go to big pharma for solutions because they’re desperate. They’re prescribed dilaudid, Percocet, oxycodone, and other pain meds that are causing their bodies to break down in other areas. It’s temporarily masking the symptoms, but not removing them.

Our society needs to know that there are other alternatives, such as topical and transdermal pain creams. Certain types of these topical creams don’t even show up in the blood and have no known harmful side effects like the oral medications.

These new delivery mechanisms are just now being used by healthcare practitioners across the country. Switching to a cream like these can give patients the opportunity to get to the root of the problem while avoiding making things worse.

We often see people that are trying to keep up with the latest fads in nutrition, diets and complete wellness. But what's wise? We know there’s no shortage of diets to try or special herbs to take! But your biggest concern is knowing what types of diets to follow and how they affect the body during and afterward.

There are plenty of diets out there that are not evidence-based. They will help you lose weight, but they’ll also help you gain it back faster than you lost it!

Likewise, vitamins are not all created equal. Some are great, others are completely useless. There are plenty of synthetic vitamins, and vitamins that are not regulated.

The key is to follow a diet that helps you to lose the bad fat — not the good fat — and helps your body to keep the weight off, and to take vitamins that are bioidentical and that the body recognizes as its own.

In the pursuit of good health the body needs balance. How do you know what you need? Biology before pharmacology! Test, don’t guess — stop guessing when you can know. Today, we can test for deficiencies in nutrition, hormones, vitamins, minerals, neurological health, and enzymes.

We find ourselves going to a vitamin store and buying things we don’t even know we need. This can do more damage than good. It’s going right back to big pharma. We need to stop doing this.

Testing is as easy as collecting saliva, doing a blood finger prick, or blood draw, or collecting urine. Once the results are in, you’re only taking chemicals that come back deficient. So it’s no longer cookie-cutter medicine.

Our Creator has made us biochemically unique. So, why would we take supplements if we don’t need them? Let’s start by taking the supplements we actually need.

The overuse of antibiotics especially taking antibiotics when they aren’t the appropriate treatment promotes antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections but not viral infections. For example, an antibiotic is an appropriate treatment for strep throat but its not however the right treatment for most sore throats, which are caused by viruses. To prevent a common cold we suggest a daily dose of antioxidants, zinc and probiotics.

Everybody talks about aging — but what actually makes us grow old? We age because of deficiencies, meaning a lack of something: vitamins, minerals, hormones. This decline in these important chemicals affects our skin, hair, energy, weight, and metabolism.

So, eating organic is smart, but, believe it or not, even this isn’t enough.

Our toxic environment has caused us to mis-process what we eat. Even when we’re eating the good stuff, sometimes our bodies need help. We might lack probiotics (the natural bacterias that we need to absorb certain kinds of nutrition) or we might not have enough enzymes, which are chemicals in our bodies that breakdown our foods properly.
