Did you know, the Apostle Paul writing to the Romans said that at the heart of every Gentile should be the heart of a Jew? He said this within the context of the “brit milah” (בְּרִית מִילָה) of the heart. This may sound strange, but there was a very important point he was trying to make. Based upon the Torah, the Lord God Himself speaks of the circumcision of the heart in the Tanach, and strange as it may seem, these concepts hold a deep a meaning for us today, just as it did when the Lord first gave circumcision in Abraham’s time. These concepts of circumcision are so important, Paul wrote to the Romans of circumcision in the following way…

We are beginning a new Torah series on the Covenant of God, the Repentance Series. This week's "Bits of Torah Truths" is an introduction, Part 4.
Studying the Scriptures in both the English and the Hebrew languages, the major premise that tends to come forth (from the Hebrew Scriptures) based upon the teachings in the Tanach and the Apostolic Writings is that the Torah is still binding and that Hashem, did not intend for Yeshua’s appearance to render irrelevant the message of the Torah but is in fact a part of the message of the gospel which is to walk in righteousness, holiness, justice, and truth, and to seek the Lord God of Israel all the days of our lives. These instructions do remain valid for us today taking the peshat (simple) reading of the biblical texts in contrast to what modern theologies teach. Modern theologies would have us believe the Apostolic Writings supersede the Torah. The Apostolic Writings however are in fact a first century commentary on the Torah as a way of life. The majority of Christian denominations however subscribe to some version of replacement theology, that the church has replaced Israel, and that the New Covenant has replaced the Old.
While studying the Bible, it is important to take a multidisciplinary approach by considering the history, the culture, the people, and the languages in order to help us understand the Scriptures and how to apply God's Word to our lives. MATSATI.COM Teaching Ministry examines the Hebrew Scriptures (Masoretic Text), the Aramaic (Targumim), and the Greek (Septuagint), coupled with studies in the rabbinic literature (Talmud Bavli, Mishnah, Midrashim, with the classical commentators: Rashi, Sforno, Rambam, etc). Our goal is to immerse ourselves in the language, the history, the culture, and the people who lived in the time of Moshe, the Prophets, and the Messiah, in order to deepen our understanding of Scripture, increase our faith, and grow in our relationship with the Lord!
