This is the 6th reading of this Torah Cycle, Tol'dot, Genesis 25:19-28:9
In this week's teaching, Jacob deceives Isaac because lack of faith. We also see the first enmity with the Philistines.

He came and forgave us for our sins. His message “Go and Sin No More!” If we do our best but fall short His grace will cover us. But if our best is breaking the commandments and Torah on purpose every single day 1 John 3:6 says if you are one with him you will not live in your like everyday in sin. We are only saved by the blood of Messiah but if we are one with him we would not ignore the commandments. That sure includes violating the Sabbath.
There is nothing NEW in the renewed covenant about how we are to act. Yeshua told us to keep the Torah.
Yeshua said ” I Am the way, the truth and the life:no man comes to the Father but by ME. If you had known ME, you should have known my Father also.” Learning the Torah is fine but KNOWING the Savior is the Good News! The Pharisees thought that they had salvation through the Torah. The “renewed covenant” theology is adding and subtracting from what the words in Scripture actually Say and that goes against the words of Torah.
Don’t get me wrong. I believe that the whole Bible is relevant but all things are not applicable. I keep Sabbath and the food laws and follow the Torah readings and am learning the Hebrew language just because it is so beautiful. I am from the tribe of Manasses but the point still remains that Knowing the God who saves us supersedes the rules and regulations. They only serve to aid our understanding. Relationship is what counts. Obedience follows because of love.
agreed. That’s what I said 🙂
It is my pray all believers would love him so much that they would seek to learn and keep His instructions.
The NEW Covenant was ratified by blood and the death if the testator.Heb 9:16 The first Covenant is null and void like marraige between two people where one has died and is free to espouse another. The Holy Spirit has the ability to teach the truth and this Renewed Covenant” teaching is askew. The Gospel is Yehshua. Know Him! He is the Living Torah! He was the fleshly manifistation of God the Almighty! Bless him by including him in your teachings and not just what he said but who he IS.
Disagreed!! Because that is not what the Bible says. The new covenant didn’t do away with the old covenant. If you are going to make comments please stick to Scripture and not Christian Theology. No where in the Bible does it say the Original Covenant was made void. In fact Yeshua told His followers to keep Torah.
I am quoting the Scriptures. Jeremiah 31:31 and Hebrews 8:8,9 “…I will make a New Covenant..Not according to the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them outvof Egypt..I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts…” 13 “.. he made the first one Old ..decayeth..ready to vanish away.” That’s what it says.
He put the renewed one on our heart but didn’t change it, He restored it!!! Took it off stone and put it on our heart so we remembered and kept it. Those who love me will keep my commandments He says!
Is it possible since Esau hated his choice to give up his birthright in a verbal agreement that their mother wasn’t going to allow Esau to gain what was not his. Seems once Isaac heard Esau admit it had happened twice, Isaac remembered the older will serve the younger therefore he gave his blessing to straighten out the deception in the 1st blessing. Isaac was looking out for Jacobs best interest in telling him not to mix the bloodline, yet Esau did not get this same warning from Isaac.
Seems like Esau left the community on a regular basis to make a name for himself (great hunter) and to please his physical father Isaac yet Jacob stayed within the home, and was content where YHWH placed him, (Spiritual Father Creator). They did not lack for food to need it hunted, (go get two goats) Isaac could not tell the difference in the meat from his goats or the wild. He was not too drunk to give the blessing. Isaac divided his own children shown in the blessing of “your mother son” Jacob

Hi Brother. My Bible fell apart too, I had it re bound. I just couldn’t let it go after being with me through so much. It looked like new, with fine leather cover.
Brother Paul when you read the part where Easu 26 Then his brother emerged, with his hand holding ‘Esav’s heel, so he was called Ya’akov [he catches by the heel, he supplants]. Is the same as Genesis 3:15.
I like you Torah Commentary
